Another fabulous, highly individual release from Catbird Records.Ok, so, you probably already know the guy responsible for this new release - he's done work with Destroyer, Sparrow, and, oh yeah, a band called Zumpano. Jason Zumpano and visual artist Jason McLean decided to do an artistic collaboration, a sort of art-trade project, in which McLean provided some lovely art, and Zumpano, in exchange, created a set of music, in the form of 12 new solo piano compositions.
Now, I wouldn't pick out any single track as being outstanding above the others - it all works beautifully as a suite. Some tracks have 'Michael Nyman played on honky-tonk piano' feel, or maybe that's just me. Anyway, if you download it and enjoy then please go buy it here. It's in a limited edition of 200 and will only set you back, like, $5!
